Antenna

Antennas should be selected considering the desired transmit distance, line-of-sight, RF cable length, and height of transmission. Each of these parameters should be evaluated in selecting the right antenna for your application.

Dipole Antenna (CFD890EL)

Whip Antenna (DG900 1)

  • Used in applications where signal strength is important in all directions from the antenna
  • A ground independent half wave dipole suitable for 900MHz products
  • Slimline, lightweight antenna that is easily mounted
  • Most common antenna used in applications within industrial plants or factories
  • 15 feet / 5 meters of RG58 Cellfoil coaxial cable already terminated with a crimped SMA male connector
  • Compact antenna made for vertical mounting
  • The simplest antenna which needs an external reference plane to efficiently radiate power
  • Designed for short range use only
  • Suitable for internal or external mounting
  • May be used on vehicles with a suitable bracket (not supplied) or when mounted in the panel work

Collinear Antenna (SG900 6)

Collinear Antenna (SG900EL)

  • Performs similarly to dipole antennas, but concentrates effective power more in the horizontal plane than vertical planes
  • Requires two mounting brackets (ordered separately) to hold the antenna in position. The bracket assemblies consist of 1 x U-Bolt 3 x D-plates with nuts and washers in each set. The brackets are zinc plated mild steel.
  • For Brackets see ANT BR COL KIT
  • The SG900EL collinear antenna may be used for external or internal mounting.
  • Designed for use with the Crouse-Hinds series range of telemetry products the SG900EL meets specific radio conditions for these products.
  • The SG900EL is a slim, lightweight antenna that is easily mounted.

Division 1 Antenna (D1 NW ANT 1 900)

WH900 SMA

  • The D1 NW ANT 1 900 antennas are designed for use in “Hazardous-Classified” and Industrial- Hardened applications.
  • The antennas are omni-directional with 2.0 dBi gain and designed for flexible mounting on a variety of explosion proof housings (with a ¾” NPT pipe thread).
  • The mounting base is made of heavy nickel-plated brass with an integrated TNC coaxial connector for ease of installation.
  • The radome is optimized for rugged industrial applications while maintaining maximum radio frequency transmission and reception efficiency.
  • The antenna may be mounted up to 18” away from the enclosure within a hazardous location without an additional seal.
  • The WH900 SMA whip antenna is made for use with the D2 W DEMO 900 demonstration sets. This antenna is small measuring only 3.5”or 90mm in length.
  • The WH900 SMA is designed for internal use only. It may be connected directly to the Crouse-Hinds modules.
  • It has been selected for its easy use with the demonstration sets.

Yagi Antenna

YU6 900
YU16 900
  • Focuses power in a forward direction for longer range applications
  • Higher gain antennas direct power into a tighter beam
  • Requires a single mounting bracket (ordered separately). The bracket assembly consists of 1 x U-Bolt 1 x D-Plate with nuts and washers. The brackets are zinc plated mild steel.
  • For Brackets see ANT BR YAGI KIT
